TV Trailer: SPARTACUS - GODS OF THE ARENA

The prequel to historical action series Spartacus: Blood & Sand debuts on Starz on 22 January. Spartacus: Gods Of The Arena is a six-part series, telling the story of Batiatus (John Hannah) before he succeeded his father as head of his family's gadiator training school, as a new gladiator called Gannicus (Dustin Clare) struggles to earn the House of Batiatus some respect. The stars of Blood & Sand will all return, joined by Jaime Murray (Hustle, Dexter) as a socialite called Gaia, and Marisa Ramirez (General Hospital) as slave girl Melitta. Andy Whitfield will be making his last appearance as Spartacus during Gods Of The Arena, as the actor has left the series following the recurrence of a cancer he believed was in remission last summer. Whitfield will be replaced by a new actor when Blood & Sand returns for a second season.
