TWILIGHT vampire joins X-MEN: FIRST CLASS

A while ago we got wind of Bryan Singer wanting to cast Taylor Lautner from the (in)famous Twilight series, in the upcoming X-Men: First Class (June, Fox)butscheduling blocked that from happening. We were also warned that Singer had been pushing director Matt Vaughn to look at the Twilight series for talent inspiration. So it's with little surprise to find Deadline reporting that Edi Gathegi, 31, who played the stylishly dreadlocked vampire Laurent in Stephenie Meyer's tweeny bloodsucking series has landed the role of Darwin;
"...the first bi-racial mutant . He has the power of 'reactive evolution,' which allows him to adapt to any situation or environment. Plunged underwater, he'll grow gills, he'll gain night vision in pitch black and his skin grows fire retardant when burned."
The description of this mutant sounds pretty interesting, but I have to admit I've never heard of him before this. If you're like me, to can read-up on Darwin HERE. Gathegi seems a bit too old to be playing a student, but then again who ever said Xavier's school was only meant for kids? I'm guessing Darwin will be on the evil side of things, presumably alongside Magneto or more likely, Kevin Bacon's Mr. Sinister. It also seems as though the deal with Aaron Johnson to play Cyclops isn't as finalized as we thought, though Obsessed With Film have been pretty confident for months now that the part is his. The confirmed cast so far then; James McAvoy as Professor Xavier, Michael Fassbender as Magneto. In potentially spolierish info, I've heard one of the inciting incidents between their great friendship falling apart is over a mutual love for student Emma Frost, to be played by Alice Eve. Nicholas Hoult as Beast, Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique, Caleb Landry Jones as Banshee and Lucas Till as Havok, and Kevin Bacon as a yet undisclosed villain but probably Mr. Sinister. Still no word on Jean Grey, Angel, Storm, etc.
