10 Upcoming Movies Which Are Already Doomed
5. Pressure
Pressure is a new war drama based on David Haig's 2014 play of the same name, and though the source material opened to positive reviews, there's considerable skepticism about this glossy Hollywood take - and it almost solely comes down to casting.
The story, centered around President Eisenhower (Brendan Fraser) deciding upon the timing of D-Day, has undeniable dramatic potential, yet the moment the first trailer dropped, many questioned the decision to cast Brendan Fraser as Eisenhower.
That's certainly not a knock against Fraser's acting ability, simply that not every good actor is right for every role, and in terms of his physical build, his overall look, and his voice, Fraser doesn't resemble Eisenhower at all.
From the trailer it simply feels like Fraser doing an Eisenhower cosplay, and while it's possible he could win us all over in a two-hour movie, the casting discourse doesn't set the greatest vibe from the jump.
Expect this to be the most common complaint about Pressure when it releases in May.
