13 Going on 30 is probably the best of all the body-swap comedies riding the coattails of Tom Hanks' Big - a charming and commercially successful romp elevated by Jennifer Garner's spirited performance in the lead role.
But this always seemed like an absolute one-off.
Yet in March, Netflix announced that they were developing a 13 Going on 30 reboot, with Hannah Marks (Turtles All the Way Down) and Flora Greeson (The High Note) set to write a script for director Brett Haley (People We Meet on Vacation).
The cast will be led by Emily Bader and Logan Lerman, while Adeline Rudolph, Jessica Alba, Taylor Ortega, Tim Meadows and Dan Bucatinsky will appear in supporting roles, and original stars Garner and Judy Greer are said to make cameos.
The original film is so thoroughly a product of the early 2000s that it's tough to believe this "requel" will be anything but another belated, unasked-for exercise in nostalgia-baiting.
Considering how poorly Netflix's last attempt to resurrect an early-aughts rom-com classic went with their widely panned rehash of She's All That, it's best to keep your expectations low.
