Velvet Buzzsaw: Ending Explained
Morf
As for Morf, his death by the hands of 'The Hoboman' comes as a punishment for his never-ending criticism of art as a whole, living an elite lifestyle that looks down on those beneath him with a sneer and an adjustment of his designer glasses. Whilst Morf isn't necessarily likeable in the film, as no character is, he does try to right his actions - but Dease neither forgets, not forgives.
There's no going back once the wheels have been set in motion, he might have released a review damning the supernatural horrors of Vetril Dease and attempted to get rid of the work, but it was too little too late. Morf had already gotten too far down the rabbit hole by using Dease's status as a springboard to further his journalistic career whilst simultaneously damning artists to ruin with his reviews, (Jospehina's ex-boyfriend getting a purposefully bad write up by request comes to mind) and his past crimes catch up with him, quite literally.
'The Hoboman' doesn't lack courage when it's snapping Morf's neck, after all.
