Venom: Let There Be Carnage: 23 WTF Moments
7. That Toxin Tease
During the final battle, Frances also takes revenge against Detective Patrick Mulligan (Stephen Graham), who was responsible for shooting her in the eye in her youth when she attempted to escape captivity.
In the final cathedral showdown, Frances acts out the maxim "an eye for an eye" by attempting to gouge out one of Mulligan's eyes.
She then apparently kills Mulligan by hanging him from a metal chain. Later, however, we see his eyes flash blue, having somehow come into contact with a symbiote as he cryptically says, "monsters."
This is seemingly teeing up the potential involvement of the symbiote Toxin, of whom Mulligan was the first host in the comics, in Venom 3.
In the comics, Toxin is the son of Carnage and has been alternately depicted as both a villain and anti-hero, even allying with Spider-Man.
If Venom 3 does indeed follow-up on its tantalising mid-credits scene - which we'll cover momentarily - then it'd absolutely make sense that Toxin ends up in the sequel somehow. Plus, there's no such thing as too much Stephen Graham, so the more the better.
