Vince Vaughn got infidelity on his mind with Ron Howard!

Vaughn to play a guy who wrestles with telling his best friend's wife that her husband is cheating on her.

If you were the 4 day old wife to Vince Vaughn, would you not even be a tad concerned that once again, for the 100th time - your new husband is making a movie about a guy who is wrestling with the moral issues surrounding infidelity? It's a subject that is explicitly close to Vaughn's heart, he's kind of obsessed with it. Imagine Entertainment topper Brian Grazer came up with the idea say Variety about €œa man who learns that his best friend€™s wife is cheating and must then navigate treacherous waters to decide what do with that knowledge" which he pitched to Universal who quickly got Allan Loeb (21, Things We Lost in the Fire) to write and Ron Howard on board to direct, and naturally Vince Vaughn to star. The movie is currently untitled and could shoot in March. We would guess the best friend will be played by none other than Jon Favreau Together, they just made Couples Retreat, a movie about long term couples who begin to question if they are right for each other on a relationship building holiday and look for options elsewhere, is this sounding familiar to anyone? The Break-Up, The Wedding Crashes both dealt with similar themes and of course Vaughn came to prominence with Swingers. What's scary about the whole situation is that Vaughn is at his best in the above four movies. Those are his most durable work, so it is a subject that obviously speaks to him. With Howard on board, there could be a big further dose of the sour to what is said to be a pretty dark script from Loeb - so we're thinking this'll go deeper than his last comedy EdTV in 1999. I'm actually in the tank on this one and I think it might turn out good.
