Vince Vaughn To Star in Universal's Bromance INSANE LAWS

Vince Vaughn is kind of like James Bond (I know, bare with me). From movie to movie, he doesn't change, his performances are consistent in these unofficial non-continuity sequels, it's just the situation around him that differs. Having basically played his quippy, hyper male self in The Break-Up, Couples Retreat, The Wedding Crashes, Four Christmases and most recently The Dilemma, Vaughn has been the brand name that has grossed several hundreds of millions on his back alone and there's no sign of Vaughn's comedy dominance ending soon, despite his last movie not setting the world alight at the box office. The Hollywood Reporter says Universal are in talks to take Jeremy Garelick's (he wrote The Break-Up for Vaughn) screenplay for Insane Laws from Columbia and turn it into a starring vehicle for Vaughn. The movie tells the story of €œtwo best friends and how their lives are impacted when their grown children fall in love, with one man€™s daughter becoming pregnant by his best friend€™s son.€ Vaughn's friends Jon Favreau, Owen Wilson and Kevin James are probably favourites for the other guy role, though we all know Paul Rudd is the king of the bro-mance movie. The Insane Laws script was a hot property a couple of years ago when Columbia picked it up for seven figures but they could never find a leading man they were keen on. Universal should nab the rights off them this week and we imagine this could quickly get the talent together to film this year, perhaps as Vaughn's next starring vehicle.
