Walt Disney's 10 Biggest Flops

1. Fantasia Ambitious? Expensive? Excessive? Yes. Fantasia was and is all of those things and more. It is Walt Disney's masterpiece and yet it almost killed the company dead because it cost just too damn much. The musical scores themselves cost six times what a Mickey Mouse short usually would and in an attempt to make this the biggest animated movie of all time Disney spared no expense. Unfortunately the rest of America was too busy getting over the Great Depression to spend money on going to the cinemas so the film was a hideous financial failure from the off. It wasn't until the 1960s where it became a cult phenomenon that it began to make profit. So, most of these films went on to become classics which begs the question just how well a Disney fuelled Star Wars movie really could be. Have your say in the comments below.
