Walt Disney's 10 Biggest Flops

3. Alice In Wonderland After the post-War slump Cinderella came along and rejuvenated Disney studios and padded out their bank account nicely. Then along came Alice who brought them back to near bankruptcy once more. Alice in Wonderland was just too trippy and strange for the audiences that had not yet embraced Flower Power and Hippy Culture. The 1950s in America were far more straight laced and Alice just didn't fit in. Walt himself once said that Alice "Lacked heart", not quite the endorsement the film needed. We don't need to tell you how successful Alice has become in later years.
