Hey, you know this looks pretty damn good. Timur Bekmambetov's (Day Watch, Night Watch) big budget adaptation of Mark Millar's critically acclaimed comic book mini series Wanted has received it's first trailer and I dig it quite a bit.
I was kinda expecting something more dark from the guy whose visually speculator Russian series has won a huge cult legion of fans but I like what he went for here. A realistic colour scheme matched with some really cool action moments. Morgan Freeman's voice-over and his character in general would make you think he was auditioned for the role of Morpheus in a new Matrix movie, but there's some interesting things going on here. Angelina Jolie looks like she is having fun and this is a big test for James McAvoy. He's not a typical action hero and has done nothing like this before. It will be interesting to see if he can attract an audience, and also carry the movie too. Admittedly it doesn't look much like the comic series... but I think there are good times to be had with this picture.
