War Machine Review: 4 Ups & 5 Downs
2. Tilda Swinton's Incredible Single Scene
Tilda Swinton appears briefly in the movie's mid-section as a German politician who stands up to question General McMahon about his true intentions regarding the War in Afghanistan.
Her three-minute monologue is unquestionably one of the movie's best scenes, focused almost entirely on her as she asks McMahon about Al-Qaeda and the futility of invading people's homes and killing them.
Swinton totally knocks it out of the park, accent and all, and while it's a shame her appearance is so fleeting, she brings some much needed inquisitive energy to the movie just when it needs it.
