Warcraft: 8 Things It Actually Did Right

6. The CGI Was (Largely) Incredible

Forgetting a couple dodgy instances of obvious green screen, the CGI on display in Warcraft was phenomenal. Now, cinema-goers these days are no strangers to huge action set pieces and computer generated locations, but Warcraft offered a lot more on top.

The depiction of the orcs, primarily Toby Kebbell's Durotan and Robert Kazinsky's Orgrim Doomhammer, was extremely impressive, giving the race a very distinct, empathetic appearance. From the light hair that traced their bodies to their deep, soulful eyes and expressions, Durotan and Orgrim were akin to Gollum or the apes from the modern The Planet Of The Apes franchise.

In fact, the orcs were so convincingly crafted that they actually had more depth than the humanoid characters, who almost seemed bland and cartoonish in comparison. Though not all the CGI landed (the portal from the Outlands, for example, or the glowing eyes of the elves) the orcs were particularly laudatory.
