Warner Bros Donate HEREAFTER DVD Profits To Japan

After the news that Warner Brothers were doing the respectable thing of pulling Clint Eastwood's afterlife themed drama Hereafter from cinemas in Japan because of its eerily similar depiction of a tsunami in the opening scenes, the studio have announced plans to donate a percentage of the Blu-ray and DVD profits to the Japanese Red Cross Society. Though I honestly can't imagine anyone picking up the Blu-ray to watch the movie this week or anytime soon, considering. Eastwood said in a statement:
€œThe devastation and loss Japan is facing is almost incomprehensible. I€™m glad to join Warner Brothers in this effort to help the Japanese people.€
The Los Angeles Times writes that people familiar with this method of fundraising expect the donation to €œbe in the $1 million dollar range€. It was not stated as to whether the June 13th UK release of the Blu-ray & DVD will contribute to the donation.
