20 Upcoming Movies You Won't Believe Are Real
6. Remain
M. Night Shyamalan's new film marks quite the stark departure for the filmmaker, as it'll see him team with author Nicholas Sparks - best known for novels The Notebook, A Walk to Remember, and Message in a Bottle - for a supernatural romantic thriller.
Jake Gyllenhaal stars as a New York architect called Tate Donovan - no, not that one - who heads to Cape Cod to design a summer house all while mourning his sister's death.
There he meets Wren (Phoebe Dynevor), a young woman who throws his life into disarray.
That's all we know about the film so far, but it certainly sounds like a far cry from Shyamalan's usual offerings.
Above all else Sparks, whose works tend towards sentimental schmaltz, feels like a strange writing partner for Shyamalan, and to make the enterprise even odder, he'll be writing a companion novel to release alongside the movie.
Remain releases on February 5, 2027.
