Considering that the iconic Austin Powers trilogy collectively grossed almost $700 million globally on a budget of barely $100 million, of course many expected a fourth film to happen eventually.

But with star Mike Myers' career decline throughout the late 2000s amid several dud projects - most infamously The Love Guru - and the spoof genre losing popularity in the 2010s, it seemed like the moment had passed.

Yet Myers has repeatedly expressed his enthusiasm for Austin Powers 4 over the last 20-or-so years, stating back in 2024 that he would be "very surprised" if it didn't happen.

And Myers offered up his most emphatic confirmation yet while recently appearing on Trevor Noah’s World Cup Watch Party, offering a quick and succinct "yes!" when asked if the sequel will happen, though not elaborating further.

Considering both the enduring nostalgia for the original trilogy and recent success of the sixth Scary Movie, there's probably no better time for Austin Powers 4 to finally come to fruition.
