20 Upcoming Horror Movies You Won't Believe Are Real

The premise of new slasher film Slay Day really isn't strange at all - but the means through which the film will be presented to audiences absolutely is.

The movie is set in the idyllic town of Belle Falls on Friday the 13th, 1987, where six teens are preparing for the biggest night of the year - the Sadie Hawkins dance.

However, when the body of the real Sadie Hawkins is exhumed to unravel the truth of her killing spree a half-century prior, an evil force returns to town.

This all sounds pretty par the course for a horror-comedy slasher flick, then, except that the film is being released in cinemas with an interactive audience participation element.

Throughout the film, audience members will be able to vote on the story's outcome through their smartphones, reportedly steering it across 50 decision points.

It's certainly an interesting idea in theory, but the reality is that it's going to be incredibly difficult to concentrate on what's happening on the big screen with an audience full of bright phone screens in front of your face.
