Wes Anderson's Next Film Will Be A Post-WWII Musical

And strangely, it won't be the weirdest thing the director has ever done.

It looks as though Wes Anderson fans won't be enduring another torturous five-year wait between movies like they did between The Grand Budapest Hotel and Isle of Dogs, as the indie darling is already eyeing up his next project. It was revealed earlier in the week that his untitled new film was looking to shoot in France, using it as the backdrop to tell a story set in the immediate aftermath of World War 2.

However, it's since been revealed - via a report in Charente Libre - that the movie is actually going to be a musical. Though that shouldn't really come as a surprise, as the director has tackled everything from stop-motion animation to crime comedies, it's still a fascinating decision nonetheless. The article also indicates that shooting could begin as early as the end of the year as well, meaning this quirky, post-WW2 musical might be coming sooner than anyone expected.

Even if it doesn't though, expect to see gifs of it everywhere on Tumblr when it eventually drops.
