Wes Craven shoots SCREAM 4 in May!

A L.A. Times profile posted yesterday with director Wes Craven claims that he will begin shooting Scream 4 in May. If the info is solid and actually taken from the interview and not just an assumption from it's author - then it gives us a firm shooting date and also confirmation that Craven will indeed direct.

Craven recently finished €œMy Soul to Take,€ which is scheduled for release sometime this year. And in May, he starts on €œScream 4.€
The news also means that The Weinsteins have given the go-ahead to Kevin Williamson's script (according to his twitter account he was running a little over deadline, but it would seem he finally got it in) and we should see the casting of the new roles in March. So it's kind of exciting right now to be a Scream fan. I'm a big fan of the original trilogy, and despite the sliding scale of quality that came with each further installment - I would argue that Scream 3 is a thousand times better a movie than the 3rd installments of the Freddy Krueger, Halloween, Saw and other such horror/slasher series', so why not another?
