What Does The Ending Of Logan Really Mean?

So, what about those evil corn corporation overlords?

Stop all the clocks, cut off the telephone. Prevent the dog from barking with a juicy bone. Silence the pianos and with muffled drum, bring out the coffin, let the mourners come. Wolverine is dead, and the worst thing is he died perfectly and beautifully in one of the most astounding comic book movies ever made.

Logan is the perfect end to Hugh Jackman's run as Wolverine: a brutal assault on the emotions and senses that is as devastating as it is purely entertaining. It is easily the bravest comic book movie Fox have ever made (even with Deadpool on their slate), and it closes this chapter of the convoluted mess of a book that the X-Men movie timeline has become.

But it isn't quite as succinct as you might imagine. There are still questions and shockwaves that blossom out from this movie that could actually inspire others - or at least warrant pause for thought. And there is enough in the film's storyline that suggests space for some interpretation, particularly in the context of what Fox have planned next. It's just a matter of working out what it all means...

Incidentally, don't stick around for a post-credits scene. There isn't one.
