What Does The Ending Of Suicide Squad Really Mean?

5. Won't Someone Ask About The Damage?

Suicide Squad Weird Damage

One of the worst things Suicide Squad could have done is moralised and wrung its hands over the collateral damage costs as Man Of Steel, Batman v Superman and the later MCU movies have obsessively done. It would have just banged a drum that's got no skin left, and missed the entire point of this being a SUICIDE Squad - a by any means operation to save the world.

Luckily, the only allusion to that we get comes in the mid-credits stinger when it turns out that Amanda Waller is just as resourceful at hiding her operation and its fall-out as she is misrepresenting missions to people. She's called in Bruce Wayne to ask him and his powerful corporate buddies to wash away the potential grime on her name (in exchange for giving him government secrets).

It's an interesting dynamic to see Wayne still considered an evil capitalist, and it cleverly brings him into the story without having to have the stench of Batman over everything. Plus the negotiation allows Waller to get away with what she's done...
