10. Eomer
Eomer was the nephew of king Theoden of Rohan and brother to Eowyn. He suffered from Wormtongue's manipulation of Theoden, being exiled along with his followers.
Eomer was a fierce warrior, riding into battle frequently against the orcs who trespassed into Rohan. He was crucial in helping to bring victory at the Battle of the Pelennor Fields, taking command of Rohan's army after the death of Theoden. He accompanied Aragorn to fight Sauron's forces at the Black Gate of Mordor.
He stayed at Minas Tirith for Aragorn's coronation before returning to his kingdom. He kept his friendship with Merry who had served as a knight of Rohan in the War, sending him gifts when the hobbit became Master of Buckland.
He was the longest reigning king of Rohan, his rule lasting for 65 years. On his death he was succeeded by his son Elfwine as king.
