What Marvel's Black Panther Cast Look Like In The Comics
11. Ayo
In The Comics:
Ayo was one of the Dora Milaje who was part of the Midnight Angels, a strike force composed of the best of the Dora's ranks, who wore stealth suits and were often deployed on covert missions, such as assassinations.
When her beloved Aneka, a combat instructor of the Dora, was sentenced to death, the two escaped together, and eventually took part in the liberation of a village full of women and helped establish an independent settlement of self-proclaimed Dora, separate from the rule of Wakanda's central Golden City.
In The Film:
Florence Kasumbas's Ayo did not play as major a part in the film, instead relegated to the minor but notable role of one of the more visible members of the Dora Milaje, who also appeared in one scene in Captain America: Civil War, challenging Black Widow before T'Challa defuses the situation.
Supposedly, the original script would have included Ayo and Aneka's relationship, but the idea was eventually scrapped, prompting criticism about the film's decision to erase existing LGBTQ+ representation.
