Whatever Happened To Rick Moranis?
The Future
In October of 2011, The Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman and Steven Yeun, an actor in the series, had suggested that Moranis was set to play a mystery 'pivotal role' in the series. That series is still ongoing currently (with the third season almost at a conclusion) and a fourth season has been commissioned, so perhaps Rick will have some involvement in the future. Whether it would be in a writing or acting capacity remains to be seen.
Although Rick turned down the opportunity to reprise his role as Louis Tully in the cross-platform Ghostbusters: The Video Game (2009), it has been suggested that he would be interested in potentially doing so in a third instalment of the movie franchise. This is, however, contradicted in various sources. Harold Ramis - fellow Ghostbusters actor and likely executive producer of a third movie - told Student Life magazine in 2009 that "Rick wont do it. Rick has retired from show business. But everyone else says theyll do it". The aforementioned suggestions that Moranis might actually be interested in doing it have come since that quote, however, so we will have to wait to find out the truth. Moranis has also been known to state that, if he did make a big comeback, it may well be back to his roots with comedy and not movies. In the meantime, Moranis continues to be a family man and long may that continue, regardless of what he chooses to do in terms of his career. What are your fondest Rick Moranis memories?
