Who Framed Roger Rabbit: 13 Easter Eggs & References You Probably Missed

Who Framed Roger Rabbit?
Disney

When Eddie hides in the floorless “Mens Room” in Lena Hyena’s Toontown apartment building the briefly-seen knob on the outside of the door looks a lot like the Doorknob character in Disney’s Alice In Wonderland (1951). Once inside this toilet there’s prominent graffiti on the wall that reads "For a good time call Allyson 'Wonderland.' The best is yet to be.” Many people think this is merely a reference to Alice In Wonderland, especially given the doorknob, but is it?

Rumors abound that the theatrical prints of the film featured a phone number as part of this graffiti. Some went so far as to report it was Disney then-president's Michael Eisner’s phone number, but no one’s ever proven it.

Our guess? Is it’s probably a reference to Allyson Rubin, a credited production secretary and animator in the L.A. animation unit. The spelling matches, and the Toontown sequence was largely produced at the L.A. studio.

And speaking of staff in-jokes…
