Who knew?

Who would have thought a montage of elevators in films could be so beautiful? And more to the point - who knew elevators were so often used in movies? I suppose you could edit together a montage of film swear words and it might be a closer tearjerker with Radiohead's melancholy track "No Surprises" setting the atmosphere. Though I have to say I kept waiting and waiting for Cary Grant to use the ladies in the hotel elevator as a shield for him to escape James Mason's goons in North by Northwest, or the funny physical comedy moment from My Favourite Wife and they never came. It's also a sin to leave outBrian De Palma's Dressed to Kill. I guess the guy who made it (Rassimo - a reader of Awards Daily) either forgot, or didn't have those clips? And how much of an elevator whore is Meryl Streep (who by the way, can really act in an elevator)...
