Why Movies Were Just Better In The 1990s

1. Fresh Ideas

The biggest difference between the movie landscape now and 30 years ago is that there were seemingly so many original movies and ideas created, rather than the current trend of endless sequels and remakes we seem trapped in today.

When looking back, it seems we never really realised how good we had it back then in terms of the release of original films, with many of the best of the decade sadly even succumbing to modern Hollywood trends and receiving terrible remakes. As each year goes by, we seem to be seeing an increasing number of adverts for Dead Horror Franchise Part 24 or Remake of an '80s Classic We Didn't Want.

It seemed the Hollywood of the 1990s was more interested in taking risks and losing money on projects and new ideas, rather than pumping out sequel after sequel because of its sure-fire profitability. It is this reason that, when looking back, the '90s seems like such a bygone era of films, as many times a year audiences were still able to look forward to a fresh release of an entirely different story in a new and exciting cinematic experience.
