Will Smith Set Photos - M. Night Shyamalan's After Earth

High-concept sci-fi/apocalyptic horror hits theaters on June 7, 2013.

M. Night Shyamalan has started production on his next high-concept film After Earth and images/videos from the Costa Rica set featuring co-stars Will Smith and his son Jaden have hit the web. Formerly titled One Thousand A.E., After Earth is based around an estranged father and son who crash land on Earth 1,000 years after it has been abandoned by mankind. We don€™t know the plot convictions for how/why this has happened just yet but we do know the movie follows the son helping the badly injured father battle the elements in the now deadly terrain. The first three photos (including the one above) come from Smith and were posted onto Facebook; M.Night posted three more images and a video onto his official website HERE. One of the more promising signs about the film is that Shyamalan, who we all know by now is a better director than writer having ran out of intriguing ideas after his 2002 film Signs, has decided to make a film from somebody elses screenplay for the first time, a move we€™ve suggested for years. His nine previous films have him listed as sole screenwriter. Book of Eli writer Gary Whitta crafted the screenplay (which Shyamalan did do a polish on) with Stephen Gaghan (Oscar winning writer of Traffic) completing the latest re-write. After Earth hits theaters on June 7, 2013.
