Wonder Woman: 18 WTF Moments
All of the (W)WTF Moments from the best DC Extended Universe movie yet.
It hasn't even been out for a week yet, but by almost every measure Wonder Woman is already a serious hit.
It performed well at the box-office, with an opening weekend of just over $100m in the United States (a new record for a female director), and a total of $223m globally. It's also found a lot of fans, even outside of the already established DCEU fanbase, served as a source of inspiration and empowerment for viewers, and been almost unanimously lavished with praise by critics.
There's a very simple explanation for all of that: it's really rather good. It's not a perfect film by any means, but it's easily the best entry in the DCEU so far, with its hopeful tone, (mostly) great action sequences, plenty of humour, and a fantastic lead performance by Gal Gadot, who has wonderful chemistry with Chris Pine but also shines all on her own.
As mentioned the film does have its drawbacks, including some third act issues and lacklustre villains, but on the whole it's the kind of funny, exciting, and inspirational superhero movie we hoped for and need. It's also one that's full of moments that are wonderful, whacky, weird, and just plain WTF. (Warning: contains spoilers for Wonder Woman.)
