Wonder Woman Trailer 2: 10 Things You Probably Missed

7. Dr.Poison And The First World War

Although many assumed that Ares was the big bad of the film, it's seeming more and more like Doctor Poison is the villain behind the world ending threat faced by Wonder Woman.

Although the comics originally saw her battle Wonder Woman during the World War II, placing the villain in the midst of the first world war pays off enormously, as trench warfare saw the introduction of noxious substances used to battle troops on a grand scale - something Doctor Poison is adept at making.

Gas Masks were required to survive such assaults and the idea that a villain is producing a substance that renders this infantry gear obsolete, wonderfully grounds what could be an outlandish plot if set in the modern day.

It's also worth noting that Poison is clearly a female here - an interesting take as she tends to obscure her gender in the comics.
