And so, it's time to consult the scores at the doors. After running down the ten key areas of both movies, which one emerges victorious?

As exciting as the fanfare surrounding Wonder Woman is, The Dark Knight wins out with six wins to Wonder Woman's four, remaining the dominant DC movie. There's no shame in failing to topple Nolan's masterpiece, though, and Wonder Woman itself stands tall as one of DC's very best contributions to cinema to date.

It would shock few if Wonder Woman ended up being the DCEU's best movie for years to come, because of course, just because they nailed one movie, it doesn't mean Justice League's not going to be a total mess. But as ever, it's best to take a wait-and-see approach.

Winner: The Dark Knight remains the top dog, and that's no knock on Patty Jenkins' fantastic, even wonderful, achievement.
