Woody Allen and John Turturro are 'Fading Gigolos'

Turturro has wrote and will direct the comedy which also stars Sharon Stone and Sofia Vergara.

It€™s very rare that Woody Allen makes appearances in films that aren€™t his own, so it was a huge surprise to say the least when the news broke in Variety yesterday that the prolific writer/director has signed up to star along side John Turturro in Fading Gigolo. Turturro and Allen will play best friends who start up their own gigolo business in a Hasidic Jewish community for a bit of easy money. Things get complicated for the pair as the neighbourhood begins to get suspicious of their seedy extra curricular actives. Sharon Stone (Basic Instinct) and Sofia Vergara (Modern Family) may also join the project which Turturro himself will direct from his own screenplay. Turturro who is a favourite in the world of independent cinema recently joined forces with Michael Bay for Transformers: Dark of the Moon which was alarming but it€™s nice to see that he€™s going back to his roots for this movie. Allen€™s involvement in the project is a huge sign of faith that the screenplay must have a lot of merit to it. Although no release date has been set, production on Fading Gigolo is set to begin in New York this April. Sounds great!
