Working Title to conjure up MERLIN film

Doesn't everyone have a King Arthur script floating around their Final Draft folder? I know Warren Ellis has one, Bryan Singer too, Brian K. Vaughan also and hell even I have one (seriously I do, mine is titled Camelot!). As long as they are making movies and t.v. shows, they'll be adapting the King Arthur legend in some form. Announced today, Working Title are making moves to develop a film based on Merlin, the famous Magician of Arthurian Legend who is the famous archetype for Gandalf, Obi-Wan Kenobi and Hagrid from Harry Potter. Though Merlin has never had a definitive screen portrayal the above three have enjoyed despite attempts from Ben Kingsley, Sam Neil and Donald Pleasance - probably because there has never been a definitive Arthur film. Except maybe The Sword in the Stone... Writer Jay Basu delivered the pitch Working Title are keen on, which we are told will be set in a contemporary setting. Yup that means modern day Merlin. Didn't they see The Sorcerer's Apprentice to see that is a bad idea.
