World War Z: 10 Reasons It's An Absolute Disaster

6. Stupid Characters

World War Z This is a movie full of idiotic characters who are almost impossible to root for; the tone is set perfectly early on when an important character trips over and shoots himself in the head. It gets worse when the film focuses on Gerry's daughters, the youngest of whom is resigned to whining about her blanket, her daddy, and how scared she is. It's hardly the fault of the young actress in question - and let's face it, what journalist wants to start criticising a child? - but simply the way her character is written. And to think, we all assumed it couldn't possibly get any worse than Dakota Fanning's Rachel in War of the Worlds, up to this point the most irritating banshee-kid to ever slink onto the big screen.
