World War Z: 10 Reasons It's An Absolute Disaster

4. Performances

World War Z Brad Pitt is one of Hollywood's generally more reliable A-list actors, yet even he is hamstrung here by a careless script, which causes the actor to appear bored and unfussed by a project that he himself is a producer on. There is no urgency to his character, no emphatic emotion at anything that happens; he is simply a hollow shell throughout, failing to muster up any emotion or relatability in this viewer. The same is true of almost everyone else in the film; though plenty of talented actors abound, they're simply given nothing of mention to do, and perhaps most cruelly, Lost's Matthew Fox appears as a soldier for all of five seconds, presumably having had his role largely left on the cutting room floor.
