WORLD WAR Z Begins Filming Next Month

Screen Daily say casting is getting serious on Paramount's zombie apocalypse World War Z and that shooting on the movie will begin next month in Malta before moving then to the U.K. and then later Hungary, before wrapping in the fall. Problems over the budget, the film's rating and all that other trouble we heard about previously seems to have been settled and the $150 million project is officially a go-er. Cool. Mega star Brad Pitt leads as the UN researcher who travels the globe interviewing survivors to chronicle how humanity survived a zombie apocalypse, and we had heard Anthony Mackie was circling a supporting role (denied by the actor recently) and The Killing's Mireille Enos was in talks to play Pitt's wife. Adapted by Matthew Carnahan (Lions for Lambs, State of Play) from Max Brooks' popular work of fiction, Marc Forster directs his first movie since Quantum of Solace and it promises to be the most detailed and intense work of zombie cinema we€™ve ever seen, especially with the lauded DP Robert Richardson (Shutter Island, Inglourious Basterds) on board.
