8. Marc Forster
It appears that relative newcomer director Marc Forster might not have been the best choice to direct a movie like World War Z. From what I'm reading
online, Forster hadn't even decided what the zombies were to look and move like until three weeks before production was due to begin, citing many on-set to begin questioning his ability to lead a project of this magnitude. According to the source, Forster's vision was to be fully supported by a strong, award winning team but when his vision failed to manifest itself, a power vacuum formed that at one stage threatened to derail the production in its entirety. One horror story within the horror story is as follows; Cinematographer Robert Richardson struggled to impose order, antagonizing other crew members in the process. Richardson is highly gifted but doesnt respond well to weakness at the top. If you waffle at all, you get slammed, he says. It seems that with World War Z, Forster might have bitten off a little more than he could chew. Considering the fact that Quantum of Solace (easily the least impressive of the Daniel Craig Bond films) is Forster's only other big budget feature credit, one looks at the trailer and starts to wonder; does it represent the standard that it should?
