20 Horror Movies Ruined By TERRIBLE Reveals
9. Ray Is The Killer - I Know What You Did Last Summer (2025)
The legacy sequel to I Know What You Did Last Summer gets some begrudging credit for taking such an unhinged swing with its climactic killer reveal, but it's also so absurd, implausible, and downright fanbase-alienating that it causes the entire movie to collapse in on itself.
Though we're initially led to believe that the sole killer is Stevie Ward (Sarah Pidgeon), at the very end we learn that original survivor Ray Bronson (Freddie Prinze Jr.) was her secret accomplice.
His motive? He acted out of revenge against the town of Southport itself for trying to erase the original killings from its history in order to boost tourism, in turn forgetting all about Ray and the trauma he suffered.
While there are some interesting ideas at play here, it's just tough to reconcile that Ray's trauma would ever transform him into a murderous psychopath.
This was already a tepid legacy sequel at best, but the misguided twist ensured it ended up feeling like especially awful fan fiction.
