20 Movie Roles That Were Insanely Miscast

1. Avan Jogia - Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City

Despite its apparent attempt to be a more source-faithful adaptation, 2021's Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City was largely trashed by fans for being a surface-level translation of the first two hit survival horror video games.

And perhaps the single biggest complaint was the film's treatment of fan favourite hero Leon Kennedy, portrayed here by a jaw-droppingly ill-fitting Avan Jogia.

Now to be completely fair to Jogia, the character was entirely mis-conceptualised as written.

Depicting Leon as a comic relief loser was... definitely a choice, and it's frankly unlikely that many actors could've made something good out of it.

But neither Jogia's look nor his general vibe really line up what fans expected from Leon, prompting many to point out that he would've been a much better fit for Resident Evil 3's Carlos Oliveira.

We can only hope that one of these days we'll finally get a worthy live-action depiction of Leon.
