Wow, Michel Gondry directs Rogen's GREEN HORNET

Awesome. I just literally finished watching THE PINEAPPLE EXPRESS on Blu-Ray, a movie I much, much, much more enjoyed the second time around and I see Seth Rogen doing his best flying cat, superhero impression and I'm thinking... "damn, I sure hope GREEN HORNET gets made". greenhornetlogo And well, low and behold, I log onto my macbook and I read that the wackjob that is Michel Gondry (ETERNAL SUNSHINE OF THE SPOTLESS MIND, BE KIND REWIND) is now firmly attached to helm and the film is back on at Columbia. Gondry, who I guess isn't as far out of left field as you might think, will direct the production later in the year. Seth Rogen will star as the Hornet from a script he co-wrote with his SUPERBAD and PINEAPPLE EXPRESS partner Evan Goldberg. Even though he has dropped directing duties, Stephen Chow will hopefully still play Kato. Gondry is a huge HORNET fan and back in the late 90's attempted to make a big screen adaptation with ROBOCOP screenwriter Edward Neumeier before it ultimately got shelved, just one of the many ill fated attempts at adapting this classic property. Now ten years later, Gondry, with a massive reputation now in the industry, Gondry gets his chance at glory.
