X-Men Apocalypse: 10 Comic Book Mistakes The Film Should Avoid

6. Lots Of New Characters With Stupid Names

For the most part Age Of Apocalypse was an excuse to redesign a lot of familiar X-Men characters, imagining what their lives would be like without Charles Xavier €“ and for the most part it's just bad haircuts and code names. X-Men: Apocalypse looks to be going down that road somewhat, with recast and restyled Jean Grey, Cyclops and Nightcrawler. The comics add a bunch of new characters to the roster, though, including Days Of Future Past movie star Blink. Some of them are pretty cool, but then some of them are members of Apocalypse's Four Horsemen. And they are uniformly terrible, and hopefully won't be appearing on the big screen. Days Of Future Past's post-credits scene saw a glimpse of Apocalypse and his OG henchmen, but the comics have him chilling with a team of new cronies: namely, Abyss (whose body €œunwinds€ to capture people), Mr Sinister (more on him soon), and Holocaust. Cyclops and Wolverine are silly names €“ none of them refer to genocide. Maybe skip that, it's in slightly bad taste.
