One sentiment that's been consistent among the cast and crew is that Apocalypse will be a pivotal X-Men movie in so far as facilitating a major personnel change. Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy, Nicholas Hoult and Jennifer Lawrence's contracts all expire at the end of Apocalypse and it's expected that they will move onto other things, all while the film will usher in a new age of heroes with its young versions of Cyclops, Jean Grey, Storm, Nightcrawler and so on. While it's entirely possible that contracts could be renegotiated for the four headliners, it doesn't seem massively likely, and though they could appear in occasional cameo form, this very much feels like a passing of the torch to a new generation. It's arguably a mistake to cut Xavier out of the equation above all else, and it certainly presents a huge risk moving forward, but it should certainly make 2018's unnamed X-Men movie a might more interesting. What are you expecting from X-Men: Apocalypse? What else would you like to see? Shout it out in the comments!
