The X-Men series is no stranger to death, having killed countless mutants both famous and otherwise over the course of its eighteen-year run, and it looks as though Dark Phoenix will feature the death of at least one.
A key moment of the trailer shows Charles, Hank, Storm, Nightcrawler and at least one other (umbrellas up) mourning the death of someone. Who that someone is still unclear, but we can safely assume that they're a member of the X-Men, with the team themselves the only attendees.
Had this not been Fox's last entry in the X-Men series, fans would've probably assumed that the most obvious candidate for elimination would be Mystique, given Jennifer Lawrence's reluctance to return to the series until Simon Kinberg signed on. However, given that the series is all coming to an end anyway, it could be anyone in that grave, whether that be Quicksilver, Mystique again, or potentially even an X-Men we're yet to meet.
