X-Men: Days Of Future Past - 24 Characters Revealed By Empire Magazine

Featuring a steam-punk Quicksilver and a scientist who is REALLY into a Sentinel's junk...

To celebrate the upcoming release of Bryan Singer's timeline bending X:Men sequel, Empire magazine have released a commemorative run of 25 special covers, revealing 24 key characters for X-Men: Days Of Future Past (and Singer himself, because nobody should forget that it's definitely his movie, and no one else's.) Naturally, some of the characters are already familiar, having appeared either in Singer's X-Men movies, or in the First Class reboot/reimagining, but there are a number of brand new characters, like Evan Peters' Quicksilver and Fan Bingbing's Blink, neither of whom have been seen by fans to date.
And then, of course there are new characters Warpath and Havok...
There are also first-looks for recast roles like Toad and William Stryker...
And big shiny Colossus...
It was clear Stryker was going to simply be a younger version of himself (looking suspiciously like Military School Stiffler,) but it also appears that Toad is a military man as well, given the fatigues and the helicopter detail in the background. It seems also reasonably to suspect that Toad will be linked to Stryker, given that their images overlap (the planes in the background,) which is an intriguing thought. Naturally, the two most exciting images are dedicated to the Sentinels, both past (featuring a man diligently inspecting and cross-checking its penis area with his clipboard) and new and scary (which slightly resembles a robot designed by Liberace.)
By far the most controversy has been reserved for the new take on Quicksilver, who, surprise, surprise doesn't really resemble his original character design.
But then, how many of the leather clad figures look anything like the lycra-wearing characters from the same era as the version of Quicksilver everyone seems to be suggesting is the gold standard? Could the silver haired speedster look any more disinterested? He must be edgy. There's also a rather jarring result created by the speeding effect they've added to show off his mutation, in that it appears he's doing the Roadrunner-style emergency stop (complete with comic BOING noise) made famous by the Looney Toons character. But the real question here is why Wolverine's arms are so vascular...
