X-Men: Apocalypse - 25 WTF Moments

23. BLOB!

After his supposedly disastrous appearance in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, it was widely considered that we'd all seen the last of Blob as a character in the X-Men film universe. Personally, I saw that as a travesty as Kevin Durand's take on him was nowhere near deserving the criticism he got.

Anyway, it wasn't the end as the trailer completely bloody needlessly showed. But poor Blob didn't get a chance for a renaissance, instead he became the latest victim of Bryan Singer's past shaming campaign to either retcon or ridicule the X-films he didn't make. So instead of seeing a better, more fearsome version of the notable villain, we just saw him lying on his back having been beaten badly by Angel.

Incidentally, the prone character is played, rather weirdly by one time ICW wrestler (the old school promotion, not the new Scottish one) and former Hulk Hogan co-star (in the awesome/terrible No Holds Barred) Giant Gustav Claude Ouimet. You can read all about him here.
