It's incredible to believe that Harry Potter first arrived on our screens twenty years ago. Some things just don't seem to age, although it might be helped by the fact that the last time we saw the boy wizard in cinemas was only ten years ago.
In 2001, when Harry Potter cast his first spell onscreen, he cast a spell on the audience, a spell that would keep them coming back for seven sequels and help them spend over $7 billion at the box office.
It's no surprise really as the world of dragons, ghosts, flying cars, pointy hats, and broomsticks is one of the most spellbinding and complete franchises to ever come to cinema screens. The likes of characters such as Minerva McGonagall, Severus Snape, and Draco Malfoy became household names and we saw them as friends and enemies, as we willed Harry on in his fight against Voldemort.
