It's now almost twenty years since Star Wars - Episode II: Attack of the Clones was released.
When George Lucas created the prequel trilogy, he opened up a new chapter in the Star Wars saga, giving us a look at a different era when the Republic governed the galaxy and the Jedi were the guardians of peace and justice.
Star Wars: Attack of the Clones set the stage for the Clone Wars that would come to affect every corner of the galaxy. While Obi Wan Kenobi, Padme Amidala, and the Jedi Order struggled against the threat of the Separatists, Chancellor Palpatine continued to play his long game, controlling events on both sides as the Sith Lord Darth Sidious and beginning his manipulation of Anakin Skywalker.
In spite of all the bad things that have been said about the Star Wars prequels, and the second entry in particular, they have many good points, not least their characters like Mace Windu and Count Dooku. They are also extremely ambitious; they pushed the technology of the time to the limit to make their massive computer-generated effects, helping to create George Lucas' vision of Star Wars.
