Released on 16th April 2016, Captain America: Civil War represents a turning point in the MCU. It was the final film in the Captain America trilogy, and paved the way for Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. It also marked the conflict between Cap and Iron Man finally reaching a boiling point, resulting in the fracturing of the original Avengers team.
Civil War was highly praised by both comic book fans and critics following its release, with fans praising the introduction of both Spider-Man and Black Panther, while also remaining true to the themes of the original comic book run. The film is a love letter to comic book fans. It uses the medium of film to put the comic book to screen such as the splash page representation in the airport sequence.
We're currently living in a post Endgame world where in which that chapter of the MCU has come to a close. It is interesting to look back at the final instalment of the Captain America franchise and see just how perfect it was in that moment. That being said, how much can you remember about the final Captain America film?
