Beginning in 2003 with The Curse Of The Black Pearl, Pirates Of The Caribbean has gone on to become one of the most popular and successful movie franchises ever.
The second film, Dead Man's Chest, only helped to expand on that success, taking more then $1 billion dollars at the box office and becoming the highest grossing of the five films.
The story follows Captain Jack Sparrow as he searches for the Dead Man's Chest which contains the heart of Davy Jones and will free him from a debt owed to the eerie captain of the Flying Dutchman. All while trying to evade the monstrous sea creature the Kraken, Davy Jones' tentacled pet.
The movie continues in the style of the series, mixing myth and fantasy elements in with the popular historical setting of pirates in the 18th century.
Filmed back-to-back with Pirates Of The Caribbean: At World's End, the movie forms the first part of the duology, bringing in the protagonist of Lord Beckett and the East India Trading Company and setting the stage for the events of the following movie.
