Back in 2015 the dreams of so many Star Wars' fans came true.
A worthy sequel to the original trilogy, The Force Awakens was the shot of adrenaline the franchise needed after the prequels. Taking place 30 years after Return of the Jedi, Episode VII introduced us to a fresh faced band of heroes in the form of Rey, Finn and Poe, as well as the fearsome Sith Lord Kylo Ren with his epic crossguard lightsaber.
Despite its plot beats being eerily similar to the film that started it all, A New Hope, J.J. Abrams managed to make The Force Awakens both fresh and familiar, pleasing the majority of fans and introducing a whole load more to a galaxy far far away. After all, why fix what isn't broken?
It's been five years since then, and although the sequel trilogy as a whole left a bitter taste in some fans' mouths by the time of its conclusion, it's hard to deny that Episode VII wasn't an enjoyable ride.
